This Website Lets You Try on Clothes Before You Buy ‘Em
We’ll be the first to admit: we have an online shopping addiction. And with that addiction comes a host of problems — the most annoying being lugging bulky boxes down to FedEx, UPS or the post office to return items that didn’t fit the way we thought they would. AND THEN waiting for the money to come flooding back into my account so we can try our luck at another online store. And while technology has certainly helped up the style game and simplified shopping, it hasn’t quite figured out how to solve the above (recurring) online shopping conundrum… until now.
Bungalow Clothing is the genius new shopping site that lets customers try before they buy. Okay, so the concept doesn’t seem groundbreaking, but it’s actually pretty brilliant. Unlike most other sites, Bungalow doesn’t charge you a penny until you’ve had the chance to try everything on in the comfort of your home.
To get started, you’ll log on and shop from their selection of designer clothing. You’ll probably notice they carry some of your favorite brands, including Ella Moss, Splendid and Current Elliot. After adding a handful of items to your “dressing room,” you just input your info (name, address, the usual stuff) and a box of goodies will arrive on your doorstep in three to five business days. In addition to receiving the items you picked out, you’ll also find a few other pieces hand-picked by one of Bungalow Clothing’s in-house stylists — who, btw, you can chat with while you’re browsing the site!
Now that you have your items, you can start trying them on with everything else you have in your closet + styling tips with the new pieces included from the pro.
You have 10 days to try everything on, but if you need a few extra, just call and ask for an extension. After you’ve decided what you want to keep (aka EVERYTHING), just put the items you don’t want back into the box with the pre-paid shipping label. Now this is where things get even more exciting: Text “pickup” to the phone number listed in your shipment paperwork and, magically, FedEx will come and whisk the package away form you, getting rid of that pesky burden of schlepping it anywhere. And the price for this stress-free shipping process? Nada. It’s included in the service.
While they may not carry as many brands as Nordstrom or Nasty Gal, Bungalow Clothing offers the ideal shopping experience for the indecisive consumer who could use a little help picking things out. But be warned: There’s a good chance you won’t send back those stylist chosen picks. Because, well, they know what they’re doing.
