How to Make a Cute Cactus Costume With Just 4 Supplies
This year, cacti took over the design world. It wasn’t long before we fell in love with this prickly trend. Unsurprisingly, the projects quickly came rolling out. We’ve made cacti-printed jeans and cactus pillows, and we even dubbed cacti as the new stripes. And with Halloween around the corner, you better believe that we made a cactus costume. This super easy and budget-friendly outfit is perfect for plant- and desert-lovers alike. The only downfall? You probably shouldn’t give out hugs on Halloween. But hey, at least you’ll look real darn cute.
Materials:
— green dress
— white pipe cleaners
— headband
— faux flower
Tools:
— hot glue gun
— scissors
Instructions:
1. Hot glue the flower to the headband.
2. Cut a pipe cleaner in half.
3. Bend one piece into a “V” shape.
4. Hot glue onto the dress. Repeat steps 2-4 until the dress is covered.
Don’t think too much about the placement of each pipe cleaner “spike”. Keep it natural and organic by gluing the pipe cleaners without rhyme or reason.
Bend the pipe cleaners so they are positioned at different angles. Again, there isn’t a wrong or right way to do this. Just have fun with it!
As for the flower in your hair, opt for one in a vibrant, colorful shade. We used a bright fuchsia, though red, yellow or pink would all look just as great.
And just like that, your prickly creation will steal the show.
