See Caitlyn Jenner Make Her Debut on the Cover of Vanity Fair
A little more than a month after revealing “for all intents and purposes, I am a woman,” in an interview with Diane Sawyer, today Vanity Fair released the first image and video of Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known to the world as Bruce. The debut of Caitlyn comes shortly after the Keeping Up With the Kardashians: About Bruce special where the Kardashian-Jenner clan discussed their feelings about Caitlyn’s transition and more than a month before E!‘s eight-part series chronicling her transition premieres. As the cover says, “Call me Caitlyn.”
June’s Vanity Fair, which hits newsstands next Tuesday, not only introduces Caitlyn to the world but it also “chronicles the tensions, traumas, and courage that shaped Caitlyn into the woman you see today.” The in-depth article was written by Pulitzer Prize-winning Vanity Fair contributing editor and author of Friday Night Lights Buzz Bissinger, while the first photos of Caitlyn were shot by Annie Leibovitz at Caitlyn’s Malibu home. From the released image and video, Caitlyn is not holding back when it comes to her style. We cannot wait to read her story more in-depth — and see how her fashions rival that of her daughter’s.
In a teaser video for the issue, Jenner states that as Caitlyn she is “free” and that Caitlyn “doesn’t have any secrets.” She echoed that statement further via her first Tweet, “I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.”
We’re sure there will be even more RTable moments when the full interview is released next week.
