The ‘Camp Rock’ Cast’s 10th Anniversary Tweets Are Making Us Seriously Nostalgic
The iconic Disney Channel movie Camp Rock turned 10 years old on Wednesday, June 20 (HOW?), and its cast — including Kevin and Joe Jonas, Alyson Stoner, and more — took to social media to celebrate the milestone.
“#10YearsOfCampRock Well that went by quick!” Kevin Jonas tweeted with a cast photo of himself, his fellow Jonas brothers Joe and Nick, and Demi Lovato. “What was I doing with my hair,” he punctuated the shout-out, adding a rather appropriate face-palm emoji.
Joe also got in on the reminiscing — even if he did mix up his references. “10 years of Camp Rock and I’m still bitter we lost,” he tweeted, accidentally recalling the movie’s sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. A fan pointed out his mistake, but Joe stuck to his sentiment. “Shane Grey never forgets where he came from #stillbitter #theogmrgreywillseeyounow.”
Costars Alyson Stoner and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle also celebrated the anniversary on Twitter, with the latter, who played Ella, posting an iconic clip and calling herself the “original queen of clapbacks.”
Camp Rock premiered on June 20, 2008, on the Disney Channel, becoming a cult fave and launching the superstar careers of not only the Jonas brothers but also Demi Lovato. While Lovato, who starred as Mitchie, didn’t get in on the online celebrations, she has spoken in the past about some of her most memorable moments from set — including the moment she “freakin’ fell in love with” Joe. The two went on to briefly date following the film’s sequel in 2010 and remain friends to this day.
The Jonas bros and Lovato have all joked about making an “R-rated” part 3, but no actual plans have ever been confirmed. One can dream!
