Forget the Hot Dogs — We Want THESE Campfire Cones on Our BBQ
Barbecued savory foods are easy to make when you're hosting a spring get-together, as are the drinks (we'll be making ALL of the summer sangria recipes). Barbecued desserts, however, can be a little tricky. Toasted marshmallows could melt through the grates, blackened baked bananas are just a little too hard to handle and s'mores… well, we've got nothing bad to say about s'mores. But we want something new and exciting AND easy.
Ingredients:
— 4 waffle cones
A selection of your favorite toppings:
— mini marshmallows
— banana slices
— chocolate chips
— rolos
— mini Reece's Peanut Butter Cups
— roughly broken Oreo cookies
— chopped nuts
— sugar strands
Instructions:
1. Wrap each waffle cone in aluminum foil, leaving plenty of foil open at the top so it can be closed over when the waffles cones are filled.
2. Fill the cones with the ingredients of your choice. They will melt down so pack the cones full. The marshmallows/chocolate may stick to the foil, so it’s a good idea to sprinkle Oreo pieces and/or nuts on top to prevent sticking.
3. Fold the foil over the tops of the cones so they’re well wrapped.
4. Place on a hot barbecue for 3-5 minutes, then leave to cool for a couple of minutes before unwrapping and eating!
Note: If you don’t want to cook these on the barbecue, you can also place the cones in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-7 minutes.
