October 31st is right around the corner… and nothing says Halloween like caramel and candy apples! This year, ditch the store-bought stuff and whip up your own versions at home. You won’t believe how easy it is! Read on for the recipes.
Caramel Apples Recipe
Trust us. Caramel apples are a cinch to make from scratch.

– apples– 1/2 cup salted butter
– 2 cups brown sugar
– 1 1/4 cups light corn syrup
– 1 14-oz can condensed milk
– 2 teaspoons vanilla
– semisweet chocolate chips
– white chocolate chips
Instructions:
1. Push a candy apple stick or popsicle stick into each apple. Set aside. In a large saucepan, melt butter. Add the brown sugar and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil, 10-15 minutes. Stir in condensed milk. Cook caramel until a candy thermometer reads 250 degrees F. Stir in vanilla. Remove from heat.
2. Working quickly, dip your apples into the caramel. Place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Let cool for 10 minutes.
3. Place semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute. Stir. Continue to microwave in 30-second intervals until completely melted. Repeat with white chocolate chips.
4. Using a spoon, drizzle the melted semisweet chocolate and white chocolate over the caramel apples. Enjoy!

Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil, 20-30 minutes. Continue to cook until a candy thermometer reaches 300 degrees F. Stir in red food coloring. Remove from heat.
2. Working quickly, dip your apples in the candy mixture and immediately roll in desired toppings.
3. Place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and let cool. Enjoy!
