You could say there’s something in the water when it comes to musicians launching activewear. After two R&B superstars announced that they had been tapped to create performance gear in the upcoming year — Beyoncé with Topshop to launch her own sportswear brand and Rihanna with Puma as its brand-new creative director — one of the biggest names in country music is now following suit. Carrie Underwood, the six-time Grammy winning country singer has revealed Calia, her first collection of activewear for Dick’s Sporting Goods, which will be available at the outdoor and athletic goods chain starting March 5.
To keep in line with the booming athleisure trend, these Carrie-approved workout clothes are more lifestyle focused than strictly for the gym. Designed with the girl-on-the-go in mind, the feminine 10+ piece collection features strappy sports bras that could pass as crop tops during your post-workout smoothie run and a black cocoon sweater that could easily pull double duty as both your early AM yoga shroud and office cover up. Nothing here is genre bending — we’ll wait for Bey and RiRi to really shake up the silhouettes — but Calia is irrefutably pretty.
Champagne and indigo replace the default shades of pink and blue found on most women’s versions of activewear, while a bold floral print keeps the pieces on trend. So even if your style has always steered a little bit country, there’s gonna something for you to sweat it out in come 2015. Click through to Racked for a sneak peek of the full line.
