Carrie Underwood Had to Have Surgery on Her Broken Wrist
When Carrie Underwood took a fall outside her Nashville home a few days ago, it seemed as if she just needed a little TLC to recuperate. But now the singer has revealed that she actually had to undergo surgery on her broken wrist.
The 34-year-old took to Twitter today to give fans an update. “I just wanted let everyone know that I’m doing great. Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well…even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on…” (This may mean that implants were inserted during surgery to help heal her fracture.) She added, “I’m so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who’ve been taking such great care of me.”

According to Underwood’s rep, a broken wrist wasn’t the only injury she suffered because of the fall. “On Friday night, Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home,” the rep said in the initial statement to E! News, adding, “While there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall… Her recovery will take some time and she appreciates all prayers and well wishes.”
Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody…I’ll be alright…might just take some time…glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me.

Because of her injuries, the “Blown Away” songstress was forced to cancel her performance at the Country Rising benefit concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Sunday night. It’s unknown whether the injury will affect future performances.
In the meantime, fans are sending her plenty of well-wishes.
