Presenting Our Microwave Chai Mug Cake Recipe
Uh oh, it’s your bestie’s birthday and you totally forgot until now. What to do? Never fear, Brit + Co is here. As part of our microwave magic series, we’ve concocted a scrumptious last minute cake you can “bake” in under 20 minutes. Introducing, the Chai Mug Cake! It’s sugar and spice, and everything nice.
Ingredients (makes 1 mug cake):
– 4 tbsp all purpose flour
– 3 tbsp granulated sugar
– ½ tsp baking powder
– 1 egg
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 3 tb concentrated chai mix
– ½ tsp salt
– microwave safe mug or cup
In a small bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In another medium bowl, beat the egg with the vanilla extract and chai mix. Pour the flour into the egg mixture. Mix until it’s well blended, then pour into your microwaveable cup. Microwave for 1 minute, then in 30 second intervals until the cake is baked! It should take about 90 seconds.
Pop a candle and boom! You’ve got an adorable and easy-to-make mug cake.
