Check Out Our Colorful Mid-Century Modern Office Makeover
Whether it’s via our Pinterest boards or Insta feeds, we are constantly on the hunt for colorful, trendy, and functional workplace decor ideas. So when it came time to redesign our San Francisco office, we wanted to make sure that it would be something that would inspire us on the reg (and look great for the ‘Gram). We joined forces with our pals over at Wayfair to give our reception area the fresh new look it deserves. Thanks to Wayfair Professional, a service dedicated to helping businesses make spaces great, we were able to find everything we needed, including vibrant, mid-century modern-inspired pieces. Follow along to see the transformation!
For the new palette, we used our Henri Matisse mural design as inspo. Then we settled on a trendy-yet-classic mid-century vibe for the furniture and decor.
Our office operations associate Natalie Yovino does so much for us, so it was really exciting to be able to give her new digs.
The faux concrete top of her desk ties together the existing industrial touches of the room. Its L-shape gives her extra storage while the retro-looking desk chair matches the other mid-century inspired pieces throughout the room.

For the first seating area, we went with a muted palette of pastels mixed with vibrant pops of color. Then we DIYed a motivational quote wall using a pegboard and painted acrylic letters.
It was important that we create a functional seating area for both employees and guests, so we brought in a gilded coffee table for snacks, notes, happy hour rosé, etc. Now it’s a place where people can both collaborate *and* unwind.

The room also doubles as a place where employees can grab lunch and hang out between meetings. To separate the reception area from the rest of the large space, we used a bigger couch and this bookcase as a partition.
On the opposite side, we went with a cozy shag carpet and complementary bright hues for the loveseat and chair. Then we added a glass coffee table to help the small space feel bigger.
The hero piece of this zone has to be our new mini fridge that’s been stocked to the brim with La Croix.
This tic-tac-toe set encourages employees to break away from their screens and enjoy some quality time together.

We are loving every detail of how the redesign came to life and can’t wait to host our first employee event.
