Chip and Joanna Gaines Will Donate All Proceeds from This Perfect Shirt to Hurricane Harvey Relief
People have been majorly stepping up to help in the face of Hurricane Harvey’s destruction of Texas. Individual celebrities and big companies alike are sending money, products, and teams of volunteers to help with relief efforts, and a star-studded telethon hosted by Jamie Foxx is in the works as well. Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are doing their part too: Until September 30, all proceeds from their Texas Forever shirt will go toward restoring homes and lives affected by the storm.

“Texas — we will always have your back,” the pair wrote in a post on their Magnolia Market Instagram account. “From now until the end of September, 100 percent of the proceeds from our ‘Texas Forever’ shirts will go toward restoring homes and lives in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. This undertaking is not too big for us if we are all in. Let’s help restore these towns together.”
Chip and Joanna call Waco, Texas, home, and as Joanna wrote in a post on her own Instagram account, it’s important for communities to come together.
“There has already been an overwhelming response [for the shirt] and we couldn’t be more thankful,” she wrote. “Please be patient with us as we are working to get each and every shirt out as quickly as possible! Thank you all for jumping in — there’s just something special about coming together to help neighbors in need.”
According to Chip, 35,000 Texas Forever shirts were sold in the first 24 hours. “Jo and I don’t know what to say,” he wrote. “Your involvement will make a difference, so help us spread the word!”
To date, Harvey’s rain, winds, and devastating flooding has claimed 39 lives in Texas and displaced over one million people from their homes. The full scope of destruction remains to be seen, and Texas is going to need all the help we can give.
