Chloë Grace Moretz Reveals the Advice That Got Her Through Her Breakup With BF Brooklyn Beckham
These days, Chloë Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham seem as happy and in love as ever, serving as our #CouplesGoals while prepping Thanksgiving dinner together. Last year, they went through tougher times, however, when the couple, who previously dated for four months in 2016 and a year in 2015, called it quits. Now, Moretz is opening up about that dark time period, saying she really just “wanted to hide.”
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the 20-year-old put it all out there. “I went through a hard year, and I’m not going to hide that,” she said.
In addition to her split with Beckham, 18, the young actress notes that she was also learning to cope with being a star on the rise. “I had to deal with a new level of fame while I was growing up,” she said. “I was getting out of a relationship, and it was all very public. I wanted to hide.”
Instead, she took the advice of her family and friends, who advised her to stand her ground. “They were like, ‘That’s all great that you want to go away — but you can’t. You are your own person. You are going to have to deal with this sort of thing.’”

It did the trick. Though the November Criminals star says she “felt like things were falling apart, like my head and my heart weren’t in the same place,’ things slowly but surely started to shift. “Things started to change when I realized I have the power within to change them,” she said.
Her circumstances changed externally as well, with the star finding her way back to her love (who has the Cupid cherub tattoo to show for it).
While it’s anyone’s guess what the future holds for the couple, we’ve got a sneaking suspicion Moretz will handle whatever comes her way just fine. As she told the outlet, “I am young; I’m still growing up. I hardly have anything figured out, but I’m trying.”
