Chrissy Metz Had the Most Epic Response to Those Body Shamers
We saw some wild looks at last night’s MTV Movie and TV Awards — and some more casual styles too (we’re looking at you, Paris Jackson)! One ensemble in particular, however, had internet trolls talking, and not for any of the right reasons.
This Is Us star Chrissy Metz stepped out onto the stage last night in a stunning red latex mini dress with ruffled accordion sleeves and a pair of black flats with co-star Milo Ventimiglia to announce Best Duo.
For the record, I wear what I want, when I want. News flash it's
MY body. #thankstho— Chrissy Metz (@ChrissyMetz) May 8, 2017
As with just about anything — because the internet runs amok with trolls — some commenters had some mean things to say. But Metz wasn’t about to take any of it. The actress is now speaking out on the look, telling online trolls to mind their own damn business. Taking to Twitter, the actress wrote, “For the record, I wear what I want, when I want. It’s MY body.”
She isn’t kidding — back in March, she posed for a sexy pinup shoot with Harper’s Bazaar that had everyone’s jaws on the floor. She also made it clear then that she wasn’t exactly the type to fall apart should someone not love her outfit. “If I ever end up on the worst-dressed list, it’s not going to make me fall apart,” she said in the interview. “I want to look great and feel good and be comfortable, but at the same time, none of this really matters. This is the fun part.”
We for one, could not applaud the 36-year-old more for owning her body and her style and not giving a flying hoot what anyone else thinks. Hell. Yes.
