Fans have been anxiously awaiting the release of the next installment of the Star Wars franchise since The Force Awakens was released back in 2015. Now that we’re less than a week away, the excitement is ramping up even more, something that certain brands are taking full advantage of. Christian Louboutin is the latest to offer Star Wars-themed goodies, and this one-of-a-kind collection is really amazing.
The shoes will make their debut tomorrow at the Los Angeles premiere and the four exclusive custom shoe styles represent four of the film’s heroines: Rey (Daisy Ridley), Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo (Laura Dern), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran).
Rey’s shoe is an ankle-strap leather sandal inspired by the character’s costumes including the harnesses that she wears across her body. The translucent PVC represents both her Jedi powers and the Force she is able to tap into. The blue strass heel is for her lightsaber.
Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo’s pumps are an homage to both her personality and her costume — specifically, her signature burgundy cape and the strength of her character.
Captain Phasma’s strict, authoritative nature could only be conveyed through harsh curves and a pointed, utilitarian heel.
Rose Tico’s chunky-heeled sandal perfectly portrays the maintenance worker’s practical, engineering mindset. The heel itself is wrapped around an inner stiletto, a metaphor for the walls protecting her strong spirit.
The one congruent theme carried out through each of the four designs is a bespoke shoe jewelry that was inspired by the Tie Fighter. The fancy footwear be auctioned off for Starlight Children’s Foundation on behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change from December 7 through December 20
