How to Make Churro Popcorn in Less Than 10 Minutes
Friday night is Netflix night (check out our 2017 Netflix binge list here), and we’re staying in to make churro popcorn! Partying on the weekend is so last year anyway. Okay actually, we’re just broke and worn out after December. Call us in February and we’ll get our (gorgeous) party shoes on again. So get your blanket out, your popcorn ready and your comfy jammies on (although we might wear one of these stylish pajama sets, just in case we do decide to go out partying later!). Sweet cinnamon popcorn, dotted with white chocolate chips — so delicious! It’s the perfect way to celebrate National Popcorn day.
Ingredients:
- 8 cups ready-made plain or lightly salted popcorn
- 1/2 cup butter, chopped into chunks
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Churro Coating
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Also:
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Mix the churro coating ingredients together in a small bowl and put to one side. Place the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract into a small saucepan. Heat over a medium heat, stirring often, until the butter melts and sugar dissolves.
- Pour the butter-sugar mixture over the popcorn and toss together, so that most of the popcorn is coated.
- Pour one third of the churro coating over the popcorn, and toss together. Repeat twice more, until all of the churro coating is mixed in. Sprinkle over the white chocolate chips and serve immediately.

Eat mindlessly until the whole bowl is gone and you’re totally surprised by how much popcorn you’ve managed to put away.
Or serve in little buckets to help with the portion control :-)
