Make High Tech Holiday Cards With This DIY Kit
Want to give your holiday greeting cards a little more oomph this year? How about learning a new skill at the same time? It may sound too good to be true, but we promise you this isn’t a leftover Halloween trick. Circuit Sentiments is a light-up, pop-up greeting card kit that teaches you about paper engineering, circuitry and how to style some of the cutest cards we’ve seen all season.
The kit comes with instructions and detailed photo illustrations, tips, explanations of the skills you learn as you build and, of course, the crafting materials needed to make your masterpiece. And now that the project has reached its funding goal on Kickstarter, you could soon be seeing some adorable holiday themes including a Christmas tree, Rudolph and a bright flashing snowflake.
As you build the card, you’ll also learn about basic circuitry, and install a small LED light plus a battery so your loved ones can get a little sparkle and shine when they open up the card.
Handmade + high-tech are two of our favorite things, but what really drew us to this campaign was the #iamcreative spirit behind it. Natasha Dzurny was teaching a workshop on making light-up, pop-up cards when she realized that she could do it even better. So she did. Her goal has already been met twice over, so pledge just $10 and send cards with Rudolph’s nose glow by December.
