Scarves Get a Modern Makeover With This Cool Designer
Scarves are one of the most versatile accessories out there — styling them is an art form in itself. Even though it’s winter, layer-friendly fashion scarves are top of mind, especially ones from new designer Christina J. Wang, whose designs will surprise you and make you smile.
Wang’s company is simply called CJW, and its only focus is her brilliant scarf designs. The former Brown University art student takes her inspiration from the daily objects around her, such as shoes, baking ingredients and the products needed to go bottle blonde. And the outcome is gorgeous: These are definitely not your grandmother’s silk scarves. Spring pre-order styles include New York City, Hong Kong and fruits and vegetables.
The oversized scarves are big enough to make an impact on your outfit and also can double as a plane blanket; their featherweight wool makes them a light, packable companion as well. The smaller ones make great gifts and can cheekily be tied to a bag in lieu of a keychain.
Christina also just announced a collaboration with one of our favorite sweet treat palaces, Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar. Featuring iconic Milk Bar paraphernalia such as cereal milk, birthday cake truffles and crack pie, these scarves are (almost) as good as indulging in the real thing (and at none of the calories!). They’re available for a limited time on Milk Bar’s site, so you’ll want to pick one up before they sell out like Tosi’s other insanely popular creations.
