Beyoncé Reunited With Destiny’s Child Onstage at Coachella 2018 and It Was Predictably Epic
Beyoncé may have disappointed fans when she pulled out of her 2017 Coachella performance due to her pregnancy, but the singer more than made for it last night with a set for the ages. Not only did she make history as the first woman of color to ever headline the fest, the crowd was in for one HECK of a reunion.
The 20-time Grammy winner (yes, really!) gave fans everything they wanted to hear as she belted out smash after smash, including “Crazy in Love” and “Run the World (Girls).” There was also plenty of music from Lemonade during her two-hour stint, made all the more special by surprise appearances from hubby JAY-Z (the duo crooned a duet of “Deja Vu”), and sister Solange, with whom she performed a very special tribute to Nina Simone.
But it was her unforgettable reunion with her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams that really got the crowd in a frenzy. After entering the stage together from a riser below while posed as Charlie’s Angels, the women proceeded to perform three of their group’s biggest hits, including “Soldier” and “Lose My Breath,” and, yes, even ’90s fave, “Say My Name.”
The appearance marked the first time the trio has performed since 2013, when they reunited for Beyoncé’s XLVII Super Bowl Halftime show. Welcome back, ladies!
