These Breathtaking Paintings Are Made Out of Your Favorite Drink
Java, go-go juice, fuel: Whatever you call it and however you like it, coffee is a huge part of the day for most of us. While it keeps us going, artist Maria Aristidou uses it as inspiration for her incredible watercolor portraits, all done with different variations of joe.
A cake designer, commercial artist and illustrator by trade, Cyprus-based Aristidou has found a way to incorporate art and food into one, and the results are seamless, elegant and awe-inspiring. She’s coffee-watercolored everyone from Yoda to Elsa and John Lennon. Using five shades of brown from different brew strengths and combinations, such as espresso and Greek coffee, she’s able to create real depth in her work.
Oh, and if you’re in the market for cakes instead, Aristidou also does beautiful watercolored cakes, fashioned after works by Monet, Picasso, Dali and more. Some people just get all the talent!
If you have a special talent like this, tell us about it in the comments!
