The Colorful Brow Beauty Trend Is Surprisingly Wearable for Summer
For summer 2018, vibrant brows are where it’s at. Over-the-top arches have been on a roll for a while now (Remember those unfortunate wavy ones?), but it looks like we’re finally moving from the unicorn and mermaid mayhem to a more colorful look. With the release of some unexpectedly cool shades, highly hued eyebrows are back and beyond wearable (really). Here, how to easily pull off the boldest look of the season.
Stick with monochromatic makeup. You’d think that a brow this bold should be the focal point of your look, but Jared Bailey, Benefit Cosmetics global brow expert, says that it’s totally okay to wear other products — as long as it’s in the same color family. “The simplest and most effective way to look chic instantly is to go monochrome,” he says. By focusing an entire look around one color, your products will work harmoniously without it being overkill. “Another subtler way this works is through undertones. Pair a blue-undertone red lipstick with a deep blue brow to strike a perfect balance,” Bailey adds.
Let it shine. In the same way that you bronze your skin, think of a brow tint, especially in a bronze or copper hue, as a new way to get your face glowing. This easy addition will give you a subtle metallic sheen that’ll complement an already sun-kissed complexion. You may want to lighten up or ditch your highlighter altogether so the illuminating effect doesn’t compete — but then again, is there really such a thing as too much shine? Nah.
Craft a color block. Pair a tinted arch and your natural eye color to create a color-blocking effect. Bailey says that a rich teal will brighten up brown eyes. Copper will warm up blue eyes, and purple will make green eyes even more vivid.

Paint like a pro. If you’re going to try a bright brow, have fun with it. Bailey suggests using a magenta or deep teal to create an ombré brow by starting light (think one swipe) in the center of the brow and building up the color toward the end. For a warmer look, blend magenta into rich purple. And if you’re feeling cool, blend deep teal into a deep blue.
