Community’s Alison Brie Will Be Starring in Netflix’s Female Wrestling Series G.L.O.W.
When we found out that the creators of Orange Is the New Black are bringing us a WTF new series based on an old ‘80s all-female wrestling phenomenon, we were so floored that we didn’t even get to the stage of thinking about who might possibly be starring in such a show. Well, now we know, and if you weren’t sure if this was a must-see show before, it’s definitely worth checking out now, as Community’s Alison Brie (who happens to be adorably engaged to Dave Franco) has signed on to star as one of the gorgeous ladies of wrestling, a.k.a. G.L.O.W.
The new half-hour 10-episode series that will be loosely based on the ’80s women’s wrestling league (think low-budget, old-school WWE), will tell the story of an out-of-work actress who steps into the ring for a shot at fame, fortune and… glory?
With 33-year-old Alison Brie now on board in the starring role, this just went from WTF to YAS! And if you just can’t see sweet, smiley Annie Edison, er, Alison as a lady wrestler, well…
