Costco Now Sells a $5 Acai Bowl… and It’s Dang GOOD
Costco. It’s a magical land of delicious, cheap pizza, affordable organic produce, frozen foods, $1.50 hot dog combos and… acai bowls? The warehouse store quietly added a $5 version of the photogenic meal to its food courts across the country over the last few months. So of course, we had to try it. The acai itself is slightly sweeter than ones you would find at a juice bar, with a texture similar to a soft-serve, like Dole Whip. While it might not be as Instagrammable as a traditional acai bowl — we found it to be fresh and equally delicious.
The pureed frozen acai (which you can find in the freezer section) has a soft serve-like consistency and is topped with slivers of fresh strawberries, plump, tart blueberries, dried bananas, and Kirkland Signature granola with almond pieces — a great medley of textures. While we missed the chia seeds and coconut flakes from our local juice bar, at 330 calories, Costco’s acai bowl is certainly a tasty, filling option perfect for fueling your Costco run.
