Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow’s Latest Reunion Included a Classic ‘Friends’ Reference
We know a Friends reboot is never going to happen, but we can’t help but feel nostalgic anytime the women of the show hang out in real life. This weekend, for example, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow spent some quality time together, and Kudrow posted a selfie referencing a classic Friends line.
“Saturday night with a friend,” Cox captioned an Instagram photo of her and Kudrow laughing and cozying up on a couch together.
Kudrow also posted a snap from their hang out, which she captioned with a classic Friends quote. In the pic, Kudrow has removed her glasses and is squinting at the camera as she and Cox laugh.
“My eyes! My eyes!” she wrote, referencing the episode in which her character, Phoebe, first sees Monica (Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) hooking up through a window.
The former costars, along with Jennifer Aniston (who played Rachel Green on the NBC sitcom), have remained close friends since the series ended 15 years ago. Recently, Kudrow and Cox appeared in a mini-reunion on Ellen, complete with a replica of the Central Perk coffee shop frequented by the characters on Friends.
“I wanted to be there for you, get it?” Kudrow joked to Cox at the time. She had surprised her friend by showing up to pose for Cox’s first Instagram picture. Cox responded in the only way she could — with a perfect “I know!” in the style of Monica.
