Croissant Ice Cream Cones Are Here to Change Your Summer
Look, I’ve never been one to complain about a croissant in its purest form. I mean, it’s basically a stick of butter baked to flaky perfection. But it is a pastry that lends itself well to some customization. Hence the common addition of chocolate, ham + cheese and most recently, funfetti (yes, birthday cake croissants are now a thing). But if you’re really looking to take your croissant intake to another level, prepare yourselves — because we have just the thing. Say hello to crones (croissant ice cream cones).
The genius creation has been patented by Dum Dum Donuterrie, a donut shop that can be found in London’s iconic Camden Market. The foodie destination opened up back in 2013 and has become famous in LDN for whipping up and dishing out their own version of Dominque Ansel’s cronut, which they call a “cro.”
The newest menu addition only became available today, but it’s already putting waffle cones to some serious Instagram shame. While there appear to be a number of flavor options to choose from, one Instagrammer describes her treat as “a banoffee crone with vanilla ice cream, banana and salted caramel sauce” (a “banoffee” is an English dessert pie made from bananas, cream and toffee from boiled condensed milk). Ya, wow okay. Not jealous of that at all. Nope. Not even a little bit.
Crones, we’ve only known you for a day — but it’s safe to say we’re in love.
