Spa Water and Seltzer Combine Forces in This Ultra-Refreshing Drink
Welcome to our new food series called Eat It Up, where we’re sharing the products — edible, kitchen tools, cookbooks, and more — that we can’t stop talking about.
As serious sparkling water fanatics and curious food journalists, we’ve tried a semi-ridiculous amount of flavored sparkling waters, and we’re here to say that we might just have landed on an all-time favorite. Now, that’s not to say that it’s the only bottle or can we keep stocked in our fridge (for the record, La Croix Tangerine and Pamplemousse are also in steady rotation), but if we were forced to pick just one, Spindrift Cucumber Sparkling Water ($2) would be it. Refreshing and unexpected, this savory-leaning sparkler tastes like the love child of spa water and seltzer and feels pretty darn special.
At a relatively pricey $2 a can (though picking up a multipack softens the financial blow a bit), it’s more of an occasional sipper. But we’re completely here for the flavor, Spindrift’s bright and cheery branding, and its use of real fruit juice rather than natural or artificial flavors. Do note that as it incorporates real fruit juice, it is not entirely calorie-free, but has a negligible amount (the cucumber flavor clocks in at two calories).
While we’re on the subject of Spindrift, it’s worth mentioning our other favorite flavors from the line: blackberry, raspberry-lime, and strawberry (all of which contain fewer than 10 calories a can).
