Cuyana Is Redefining Workwear With the Help of Michelle Obama’s Stylist
Cuyana is known for offering globally crafted, high-quality clothes and accessories that become instant wardrobe staples — and encouraging women to collect “fewer, better things” in their closets. Now, with more and more women calling coffee shops and co-working spaces their offices, the folks at Cuyana are re-examining what workwear really means — and they’ve enlisted Michelle Obama’s stylist, Meredith Koop, to help.
The idea behind Cuyana’s “new office dressing” is that the lines between work and weekend wardrobes should be blurred: Gone are the days of having separate wardrobes for office and off-duty. After all, women work hard for our money, shouldn’t we be getting the most out of our purchases? Of course we should. According to the brand, “By challenging the existing notions of how she dresses for work, we reveal a woman who is multi-faceted, discerning and driven.” Yes. Please.
And if anyone knows a thing about dressing a multi-faceted, driven women, it’s Koop. Michelle Obama’s go-to gal (pictured below) put together “new office” looks from Cuyana for their newest campaign and the results were exactly what you’d expect from a modern style maven: Sleek, cool, and effortlessly sophisticated.
Cuyana and Koop’s partnership says a lot about what working women wear today. We want to be comfortable, stylish, and polished enough to be taken seriously. Forget about stuffy suits (if your dress code allows): Because women today aren’t about borrowing from the boys or following the rules. We’re about taking what’s ours and blazing our own trails. Right, ladies?
