This Major Wedding Retailer Is Doing Something Totally Body Positive for Their UK Launch
David’s Bridal is one of the biggest wedding dress chains in the US, and they’ve made quite a few headlines recently, with a VS Angel wearing one of their incredibly affordable gowns for her own big day and looking like a million bucks in it. Also, they’re one of the most inclusive and body-positive places to score your dream wedding dress. Now, the US retailer is planning on making the jump across the pond to the UK, and in honor of this, they’ve hired an average-size model to front the most swoon-worthy UK-themed wedding campaign you’ll ever lay eyes on.
Why is the term average-size being used here instead of plus-size? Because the average size of clothing women wear is size 14 (and women prefer seeing models closer to their size) or size 16 in the UK. The beautiful model in the campaign is NYC-by-way-of-Australia model Mercy Watson who is, you guessed it, a size 14. And the photos are absolutely breathtaking.
The campaign also features London’s iconic red phone booths and double-decker buses, as well as all the hotspots like Parliament and the Elizabeth Tower, which houses the famous BELL known as the Big Ben (yeah, Big Ben is the name of the bell and not the tower. Take THAT little piece of knowledge with you to your next trivia night!).
In the center of it all is the beaming bride, proving, once again, beautiful has no size limits.
