The ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Cast Reunited and the Photos Will Make Your Life
It’s hard to believe, but Dawson’s Creek turned 20 years old in January 2018. And while fans of the game-changing WB teen drama reminisced over Joey and Pacey’s love story or the nonstop Dawson drama that unfolded every week, the cast was quietly getting together for an anniversary photo shoot with Entertainment Weekly — and the pics are an absolute dream come true.
“I think if people want a perfect snapshot of what it was like to come of age in the ’90s and be a young person in that moment, Dawson’s will always be a time capsule of that,” showrunner Greg Berlanti (who’s now responsible for Riverdale) told EW in an accompanying interview for the magazine’s special double issue.
And he’s right: The photos of the cast members — James Van Der Beek (Dawson Leery), Katie Holmes (Joey Potter), Joshua Jackson (Pacey Witter), Michelle Williams (Jen Lindley), and Busy Philipps (Audrey Liddell) — may be new, but just looking at them transports us back to a simpler time and place.
While we’ve seen some of show’s stars together in the years since it ended, the EW photo shoot actually marked the first time since the 2003 finale that the entire cast reunited.
“I think we’ve all sort of seen each other over the years, but not everybody all together,” Katie Holmes said. “And never for long enough.”
In addition to everything else it gave us, Dawson’s Creek marked the beginning of the goals-worthy IRL BFFship between Williams and Philipps. “When something affects you while you were growing up, it kind of stays in there forever,” Williams said. “When you’re so permeable and open and trying to figure out who you are and what’s going on, whatever reaches you in those moments really becomes part of you.”
For more photos of the entire Dawson’s Creek cast — including Jack and Andie, and, yes, even Grams — head over to EW, and grab your hard copies on newsstands on Friday, March 30.
