It’s not every day you that you have the chance to sail away with superheroes, but Disney — with all their not-so-secret powers — can make that magic happen. The Disney Cruise Line recently launched Marvel Day at Sea, a signature shipboard experience designed for those who just can’t get enough of Iron Man, Thor, and Black Panther on land OR at sea. The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean sailings, sprinkled with Marvel magic on top of the Disney Magic, departs from Miami this April and throughout early 2019 (January-March). And we have the inside scoop on just what makes this superhero cruise oh-so-marvelous.

Bust out your superhero costume from last Halloween. Kids and adults proudly prance around the ship in their Marvel outfits — little girls dressed as Star-Lord, little boys outfitted like their favorite Spider-Man, and oodles of kids big and small wearing Black Panther's iconic ensemble. If you want to see dozens of pint-sized heroes, you won’t want to miss the “Marvel Costume Celebration.” Bonus points if you dress up too! (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Get you're Disneybound on (or, in this case, Marvelbound). You can throw on some red, white, and blue to channel your inner Captain America, or maybe put together an outfit of forest green and black to get in touch with your Loki side. Leslie Kay, the creator of the Disneybound blog, put together a collection of
Marvel-inspired outfits to coincide with Marvel Day at Sea, like these Spidey ones above. (Photo via Chloe Rice/Disney Cruise Line)
Build an outfit around your favorite superhero tee. This Hulk lovin' cruiser picked up the top at the mall, found the skirt on Amazon, and then customized her own TOMS for a stylish Marvel makeover. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Wear that cape with pride. Go the extra style mile with an outfit that’s far less subtle than your everyday Disneybound. Even though these ladies are wearing capes for their Thor and Loki looks, their outfits are still totally street- (or cruise-)worthy. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Show off your custom Minnie ears. Minnie ears come in a wide array of hues and styles, from the Insta-famous rose gold pair to ones that have a flapper vibe, so of course a Minnie x Marvel hybrid is inevitable. You can get all DIY and create your own, or head to Etsy and let one of the many professional crafters conjure up a pair for you. We are loving these custom Loki ears! (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Scout for superfans. Marvel love doesn’t just come in the form of what you wear over your skin, but sometimes on your skin itself. This guy not only had the Hulk and Iron Man on his arm, but also the Black Panther, Thor, and Captain America. A Marvel cruise is seriously the best place to show off these tats. Take a selfie with Loki. How often do you get to meet a superhero? (If your answer is anything but "not that often," let us know so we can move to your city!) On our ship, we sailed with a hunky Thor, an incredibly charming Loki, a towering Iron Man, a smart-allecky Star-Lord, a stone-faced Gamora, a lanky Groot, a genteel Black Panther, an energy-filled Spider-Man, a mystical Doctor Strange, a chic Black Widow, and a buff Hawkeye. Yeah, all of them. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Keep an eye out for superhero sightings. Funny thing: Superheroes do things like take strolls on deck, just like us! While going to grab a soft serve or swinging by the café for another caramel spiked latte, you might just run into a hero or two. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Catch up on your Marvel stories. Visit the Comic Vault to read over 200 comic books loaded onto iPads. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon, especially if you’re looking for more context for the characters. That’s not the only way to keep busy: There are Marvel movies, Marvel drawing classes, game shows, trivia sessions, and presentations from Marvel masters. One of the cutest activities is the Little Hero Dash, where babies race to the finish line (and yeah, the kiddos have no clue they’re racing, so it’s pretty adorable). (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Witness the Mickey x Marvel mashup. The Disney gang pays homage to their favorite superheroes with special outfits just for the cruise. Minnie loves Spider-Man, Mickey adores Captain America, and Donald relates (aptly) to the Hulk. Oh, and apparently Chip and Dale are Scandanavian. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Text with Marvel. While at sea, you can communicate with your onboard crew using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. (It also includes maps, schedules, and alerts for upcoming events.) One of the cutest things about the texting option are the adorbs Marvel emoticons. Shield, hammer, hammer all day long! (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Be in awe of the proud fangirls. While princess dresses may be de rigueur at the Disney parks, at Marvel Day at Sea, everyone's dress code is way more heroic. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Enjoy Cap-era tunes. With all that super talent on board, there are of course unique performances. Throughout the day, you can head to various venues to witness the superheroes at work, from Doctor Strange showing off his mystic arts to our favorite, a Captain-America-era USO Show, where Cap himself naturally makes a special appearance. Eat like a superhero. The menu for the evening's dinner is flavored with nods to Marvel, from Dr. Banner’s Greens and Lobster Salad to the Ravagers' Devil’s Food Cake. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Dip into some Marvel-adorned desserts. The cruise's sweet course gets the hero treatment with sprinklings of Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and a super-cute baby Groot. And yes, they are all delicious. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
Drink like a superhero. It may be Marvel time, but it’s also vacay time. On these special sailings, the bartenders whip up super special craft cocktails inspired by Marvel: Check out offerings like the Infinity Stone (Starr Rum, Drambuie, and Coca-Cola), Billion Units (Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, Frangelico, Baileys, Kahlua, and honey), and the above Mr. Blue Sky (Grey Goose Citron Vodka, peach schnapps, Blue Curaçao, pineapple juice). And the best part is, you’re on a cruise, so you don’t have to worry about catching a cab home. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
End the day with a literal bang. The action-packed Marvel Heroes Unite deck show features special effects, stunts, fireworks, and the largest collection of superheros at sea! It ends with a dancing Groot, so it's not to be missed. (Photo via Matt Stroshane/Disney Cruise Line)
Get your dance on. If you're not ready to hit the sheets just yet, you can hit the dance floor instead with Star-Lord, Gamora, and those troublemaking Ravagers while sipping on some out-of-this-world cocktails. Just for adults, the late-night Ravagers Club inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy is a super way to cap off the night. (Photo via Sunny Chanel)
