Your Two Favorite Foods Had a Baby and Here Is How to Make It
Tacos and grilled cheese are by far our two favorite foods, so when we heard that The Food in My Beard mashed these two together, we had to try it. This beautiful friendship between grilled cheese and tacos is actually really easy to create. The key is to make the grilled cheese look like a taco shell by letting it cool over a rounded surface. Pair your grilled tac-cheese (or maybe grilled cheese-cos?) with a margarita and throw another Cinco de Mayo party. Why not celebrate twice? The food will be worth it!
Ingredients + Tools:
— sliced white bread
— sliced cheddar cheese
— taco meat
— avocado
— rolling pin
Instructions:
1. Use a rolling pin to flatten out two pieces of bread. Spread butter on one side of each slice.
2. Add cheese in between the bread slices and grill until golden brown.
3. Immediately place grilled cheese over the rolling pin and let it cool there.
4. Once cooled, the grilled cheese will resemble a taco shell shape. Fill with ground beef, tomatoes and avocado.
Grab a rolling pin or a bottle of wine to flatten out your bread. Spread butter on one side of each slice.
Layer bread, cheese, bread and set it on the griddle. Cook until both sides are golden brown.
Once the grilled cheese is cooked, let it rest over a rolling pin to give it that curved taco shape.
Check out those tacos! Fill with ground beef and your favorite taco toppings.
Ground beef, tomatoes, avocado and fresh lime all inside a grilled cheese shell?! This is my personal heaven.
I think it’s time to invite the gang over for a taco party, because these tacos are killer.
Pro tip: These shells won’t stay curved for long, so send a wooden skewer through them to help hold the taco together.
