3 Ways to Hack an Avocado for an Easy Guacamole Snack Anywhere
We’re making snack time extra awesome today with this super simple, totally ingenious recipe for guacamole for one. In just a few quick steps you can make this smooth, creamy dip perfectly portioned for one, and it’s all contained within the avocado shell itself. Want to up your guac game? Guacamole for One
Ingredients:
— 1 avocado
— a wedge of lime
— salt and pepper to season
Tools:
— small sharp knife
— fork
Instructions:
1. With a sharp knife, cut your avocado in half lengthwise. Twist the two halves away from each other to separate. Remove the pit if you’re using both halves right away.
2. Using your knife, slice into the avocado lengthwise and across. Be sure to not cut too deep; you don’t want to puncture the shell!
3. With a fork, mash the avocado in the shell until its mostly smooth but still a bit chunky.
4. Season with a few squeezes of lime and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. You’re ready to dig in!
Slice the avocado in half lengthwise and twist to separate.
Gently score the avocado in a criss-cross grid pattern, then mash away with a fork.
Time to season it with lime juice and a little S + P to taste. A perfect snack for one… now grab some chips and dig in!
Tomato and Black Bean Guacamole for One
Ingredients:
— 1 recipe of Guacamole for One
— 2 cherry tomatoes, roughly chopped
— one heaping spoonful of cooked black beans
— 1 teaspoon chopped red onion
— 1 sprig cilantro, leaves removed from stem and torn or chopped roughly
Instructions: Add the additional ingredients to your guacamole, mix in with a fork and you’re ready to go!
Spicy Pineapple Guacamole for One
Ingredients:
— 1 recipe of Guacamole for One
— a few chunks of pineapple, chopped into smaller pieces
— 1 tsp finely chopped chili of your choice
— 1 tsp spring onion, chopped
— 1 sprig cilantro, leaves removed from stem and torn or chopped roughly
Instructions: Add the additional ingredients to your guacamole, mix in with a fork and you’re ready to go!
When it comes to heat levels, let your tolerance for spice be your guide. Jalapeños are good for milder heat, while serranos and habaneros add a bit more kick. Feel free to add as much or as little as you like depending on your taste.
