Update Old Booties With This Holographic Trend for Festival Season
Have you ever dreamt up a perfect shoe that doesn’t exist? FYI, that is pretty much my life. I always want the style of the high-heeled boot but with no heel, or the cute sneaker with no laces — I search and search, but of course that shoe doesn’t seem to exist. Flash forward to this month, and here at Brit HQ we are all abuzz about holographic everything. We searched high and low for cute holographic booties for festival season and just never found the pair that suits our style. But when this happens, we have one solution — head to our craft table and make our own :) Follow along below or tune into the video to find out how.
Materials and Tools:
Instructions:
We bought white boots and spray painted them purple, but feel free to use any color boot that is pleather.
- Spray paint boots purple.
- Lather on a coat of Mod Podge.
- Cut half-inch strips of cellophane and lay onto the shoe.
- Cover with another coat of Mod Podge and let dry.
Lay on a nice coat of glitter Mod Podge — I mean, they are holographic boots, so let’s add all the glitter possible.
Cut strips of cellophane that are about .5-1 inch in width. Lay them onto the boot evenly. Once covered, add another coat of Mod Podge and let dry.
Rock these booties with your favorite dancing outfit and get ready to bust a move!
