Materials and Tools:
- old jeans
- pearls in two different sizes
- matching thread
- needle
- tailor’s chalk
Instructions:
1. Lay out your jeans, take your tailor’s chalk, and make tiny marks where you want each big pearl to be.
2. Thread the needle with thread, then thread a pearl onto the needle and hand-stitch as shown below.
3. Repeat step 2 on the other leg.
4. Add some smaller pearls to complete the pattern.
Start by laying out your mom jeans, then take your tailor’s chalk and make tiny marks where you want each big pearl to be. Make sure the needle is thin enough to go through the pearls first, and then thread the needle with a matching thread. Next, push the needle from inside the denim, out of one of your marks. Thread a pearl onto the needle; pull the needle and thread through and then back into the denim. Do this two more times and wrap the thread three times around the base of the pearl to secure in place. Tie a knot and trim. Repeat the last step several times on both sides until you’re happy with the result. Finally, add some smaller pearls to complete the pattern and you’re done!
The jeans came out so cute! Wear them with a plain tee or sweater with no accessories and bright lipstick, and you’d be set ;)
