St. Ives® Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract Body Lotion.<br/>
— printed paper— wax chips
— coconut and orchid essential oils
— candle dye
— wick
— tin canister
— popsicle stick
Tools:
— scissors
— glue stick
— old jar (something you are willing to toss after)
First, cut your paper to fit around the outside of the tin canister. Then glue it in place. Easy peasy.
Next, pour wax chips into your old jar and then heat in the microwave in 20-second bursts until it is liquified. Pour a small amount into the tin canister and set your wick in place. If it doesn’t stand up straight, prop it up with a pencil or clothes pin. Add coconut and orchid essential oils — a tropical scent combo that goes perfectly alongside the lotion. Then add dye to the remaining wax and mix it thoroughly. Pour the wax into the tin canister and let it harden over night.
Mmmm, candle.
Assemble Your Box
Perfect! You’ve gathered everything you need. Now, let’s tie it all together with some adorable packaging. Find some beautiful paper and a box with a lid. Wrap the bottom and top of the box separately so your friend doesn’t have to unwrap it.
First make sure that the paper will cover all sides of the box. Fold one edge up and make a crease along the top edge of the box. Then cut a slit horizontally from the outer edge of the paper to the side of the box so it meets the crease. Next, cut a similar slit but at the bottom of the box. Fold this flap of paper around the side of the box. Repeat this process on all four sides and then fold all pieces up and over the box. Tape the paper on the inside of the box.
Add your goodies and get ready for relaxation!
Not only are St. Ives® lotions great for these boxes, but they also make excellent stocking stuffers.
