Upgrade a Basic Summer Straw Hat With These 3 Easy Style DIY Projects
Helloooo, Summer! Bring on the glamping trips, adult Capri Suns and straw hats! Whether you’re rocking a classic ’90s one-piece at the beach or shimmying in your ombre sundress, you’ll need a floppy straw hat to top off your summer outfit. Last year we brought you four ways to update a plain old straw hat, but if you’re looking for something new, here we have three easy DIYs to take any straw hat to the next level of cuteness.
SEQUIN SAYING HAT
We saw this awesome Eugenia Kim BUNNY sunhat online but balked at the $455 price tag. We’re showing you how to copycat that hat with this budget-friendly DIY for under $20.
Materials:
— floppy straw hat (We got ours at H&M)
— sequin ribbon
— hot glue gun
— scissors
Instructions:
1. Write out your phrase with the ribbon along the brim of the hat. I made my hat say “Summer Lovin’,” but here are some other phrases that’ll suit a summer straw hat:
— Paradise
— Just Keep Swimmin’
— Aloha
— Make Waves
2. Use hot glue to attach the sequin ribbon to the hat.

Summer lovin’, havin’ a blaaast!
DAISY STRAW HAT
