Draw Your Own Emoji With *This* Keyboard
We were so psyched when PopKey came out with a GIF keyboard app and even more stoked when Riffsy topped PopKey. And don’t even get us started on how much we’re looking forward to gradual improvements to the Pantone keyboard, because, we mean — C.R.E.A.M. (Color Rules Everything Around Me). If you’ve been following us for a while, you know our love for the OG emoji keyboard goes without saying. But now there’s a new kid on the block, and this keyboard app lets you draw whatever you want and send it as a text.
DrawType Keyboard ($.99 on iOS) may not be as animated as Riffsy or as colorful as the Pantone keyboard, but it still allows you to get expressive and even a little colorful. It’s like having a limitless emoji keyboard because you can just draw and send whatever you’re feeling.
This keyboard gives you the familiarity of typing with a QWERTY keyboard while adding the option to swipe off the keys to have a clean canvas to draw on. Fair warning: DrawType is still in its early stages, so the QWERTY keyboard sometimes glitches or freezes. As for the drawing aspect of the keyboard, it doesn’t glitch, but there’s no eraser and there are only 10 basic colors to choose from. DrawType might need to develop the app a little more to convince users that their keyboard is worth $.99. Nevertheless, we’re excited to see what DrawType will evolve into.
What drawings are you going to send with DrawType? Let us know in the comments!
