Introducing the Dremel Idea Builder 3D Printer (+ Win Your Own!)
Brit + Co SF has been home to some great ideas, which is why we are pumped to welcome The Home Depot ®‘s new Dremel Idea Builder 3D Printer with open arms. That’s right, Dremel (yes, the same folks behind the go-to drill you may know and love), is moving into the 21st century with a 3D printer. And it’s not any ol’ 3D printer — its official title is the Dremel Idea Builder, AKA our kinda tool (who doesn’t like building ideas!?).
Deluxe, yet affordable, compact yet contained, this 19 pound workspace will be content fitting into your workspace, helping you make whatever you can think up. At $999, this is definitely one of the most affordable options on the market, and could be a great thing to invest in with a fellow maker friend… or three ;)
Bells and whistles aside, Dremel 3D is intuitive, with a pre-installed extruder and software that works without having to hook it up to a computer. You can basically take it right out of the box, turn it on, feed in some filament, slip in an SD card and press print. No, really, we did! If you can use a digital camera, you can get this machine going, and the results are admittedly much cooler than a photograph.
this super cool Hex Organizer
online idea community. So far, we’re using it to start getting things like beads, buttons and laser cut letters organized. From cupcake toppers to camping tools and device holders to drawer knobs, Dremel wants to help you make the tools for your life. Whether that may be the social part or the serious side.
Now, back to the social part. Here are the event deets:
