You know that dresser you've been holding onto for *way* too long? Yeah, we've totally got a DIY that transforms that tired dresser into a colorful bar cart. Simply swap the drawers for drink holders and give it a bold splash of paint, and you'll be on your way to playing bartender in no time. And since it comes on wheels, you can take it wherever the party is. Cheers to that!
You'll need:
- 3-tier bookcase
- (4) wheel hardware
- (1) handle
- (1) knob
- drill
- electric sander or sandpaper
- painter’s tape
- wood screws
- (3) 9-inch wooden dowels
- (3) 9-inch by 4-inch balsa wood pieces
- wood glue
- paintbrush
- pencil
Instructions:
Take the top two doors off the bookcase.
Create the wine glass holder by gluing nine-inch wooden dowels to the nine-inch balsa wood piece.
Sand the entire bookcase.
Prime and paint the bookcase white.
Make three pilot holes in each of the wine glass holders. Then screw them into the bottom of the top shelf of the bookcase, spacing them about one inch apart.
Screw the removed shelves back into the frame.
Once the white paint dries, use the painter’s tape to partition off the design.
Add a colorful coat of paint.
After the paint dries, screw the new knobs in and install the towel hanger.
Grab your favorite cocktail recipe and put that bar cart to use.
Cheers!
