Drew Barrymore Just Launched a Gorgeous Eyewear Line
Warby Parker, watch your back, there’s a new eyewear brand in town and it was designed by one of our favorite beauty mavens, Ms. Drew Barrymore. The actress, producer, author and business woman is expanding her cosmetic brand Flower to also sell both optical frames and sunglasses.
Unlike some celebrity’s pricey foray into fashion (we’re looking at you, Kate Bosworth) you won’t need a loan to score a pair. The 36-piece collection will range between $39 to $88 in price. Don’t let the low price tag fool you; this is not a cheap product Drew simply put her name on. Flower’s site explains they’re able to mark the cost down so low because, “We do not pay for advertising. Where other beauty brands spend a vast percentage of the cost of their products on ads, we do not. Drew, as an owner of the brand, takes pride in promoting Flower, which in turn allows us to put all of our resources into the formulas and packaging, and not into advertising.”
Regardless of the affordable price point, we’re totally smitten with a few pairs in the collection. The Olive Frame ($88) comes in a delicate nude or a tortoise shell that’s speckled with flakes of blue. If you’re into the split frame style, the Lucy Frame ($88) offers a boxy silhouette with either a pink or brown gradient.
If you’ve been blessed with 20/20 vision, skip the optical frames and sport a pair of Flower sunglasses instead. It seems like Barrymore dug into her old Hollywood family tree in this side of the collection, offering up large frames that look a whole lot like something you would have seen Audrey Hepburn rocking back in the day. Our two favorites are the wine colored Lily Shades and the glamorous, cat-eyed Holly. And hey, at just under $40 each, we think we’ll go ahead and take one of each.
