Rice Krispie Treat Remix: Easter Edition!
Well, we couldn’t very well have a complete Easter without making some sort of marshmallowy, crispy treat now could we? Since y’all loved our other Rice Krispie post, it just made sense to bring it back in egg form. Not only is it fun to make with the kids, it’s the perfect dessert for your Easter brunch. Are you eggscited yet?
Ingredients:
– 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
– 2 cups Trix or Lucky Charms (to add color and spunk)
– 7 oz marshmallows (about 2/3rd of a 10 oz bag)
– 2 tbsp butter
– clean plastic Easter eggs
– cooking spray
– Easter sprinkles (optional)
First, spray the inside of the plastic eggs with cooking oil. In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat. Once it’s completely melted, add in the marshmallows and melt them. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon so it doesn’t burn. When the marshmallow is completely melted, turn off the heat and pour in the cereal. Stir with your wooden spoon until it’s completely mixed. Using the bigger half of the plastic egg, scoop cereal into the plastic egg then cover with the other half. Let it sit for about a minute, then open the egg. Voila! You got your egg-shaped Rice Krispie. Cover with more sprinkles for extra happiness and fun.
