Get a First Look at Everything You’ll Want to Buy from Ellen DeGeneres’ New Lifestyle Site
We’ve been waiting a long time for the official launch of Ellen’s lifestyle brand and it looks like that day is finally and officially coming. Last week the brand (which is called Ed by Ellen) offered us a sneak peek of the garments you can expect to see in the line. They were all very reminiscent of what you’d expect to find in her actual closet: a bomber jacket, chunky sweaters and charming peacoats. We loved everything, but we will say we were a little shocked at the price point. WWD reports that the cashmere pieces expected to launch are set to sell for upwards of $1,500-2,000. But here’s the good news: if you can’t afford to wrap yourself in Ellen-approved cashmere, you can instead opt to deck out your home in pieces designed by the talk show host. In addition to clothing, Ed by Ellen line will also offer home goods and even specialized pieces for pets.
On Monday Ellen revealed via her Instagram that there is now a landing page for Ed by Ellen and when you sign up for the newsletter, you get an inside look at a few of the items that will be available come the mid-June launch. She shared photos of painted plates, a cat poster, some hidden stitching on her jackets and a whole lot of indigo textiles.
Some of the looks are surprisingly folksy for Ellen’s fresh, minimal aesthetic we’ve come to know and love. While we could totally see Ellen DeGeneres’ home decked out in a clean blue and white color scheme, the printed plates are slightly kitschier than what we’d expect. Ellen has always been a fan of all things silly and so it does make sense that she decided to throw in some whimsical, animal action into the line.
There is no mention of what the home decor pieces will retail for, but fingers crossed it’ll be cheaper than next season’s cashmere.
