Ed Sheeran Cancels Several Tour Dates After Fracturing Both of His Arms
Brace yourself, Ed Sheeran fans. After announcing that he hurt himself in “a bit of a bicycle accident,” the singer was waiting to hear back from his doctors before deciding what to do about his ÷ tour. Unfortunately, his medical team has now weighed in, and the news is not good.
“A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future,” the “Shape of You” singer captioned a pic of his broken wrist on Instagram. (Slick black cast, though.)

The message continued with more bad news: “Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details. PS – Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged.”
The “Perfect” singer could technically still use his vocals at each concert, but a big part of his act is his guitar playing — which is obviously something he’ll be unable to do for a while.
Fans showed their support, responding with “get well soon” wishes in the comments section of his post. And we’d like to echo that sentiment: Get well soon, Ed Sheeran! We wish you a speedy recovery.
And for anyone who needs a little of his music in their lives at the moment, enjoy…
