‘Tis the season for trimming your tree, decking the halls, and cozying up to the fire with a hot holiday drink. The most quintessential Christmas drink? Eggnog, of course! It’s spiced, sweet, and oh-so-delicious. Did we mention it’s spiked, too? – 4 cups whole milk– 2 cups half and half
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 6 eggs
– 2 teaspoons vanilla
– dark rum, to taste
– fresh nutmeg
Instructions:
1. Separate eggs. In a large saucepan, combine milk, half and half, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla. Cook over low heat until warm, stirring continuously. Add rum, to taste.
2. In a large bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
3. Top eggnog with egg whites and freshly ground nutmeg. Enjoy!
