Ellen Page and Her GF Prove Dressing like Your Significant Other *Is* Cool
This year has provided a slew of #twinning moments — from Reese and daughter Ava to Cindy Crawford and supermodel-to-be Kaia and even Demi Moore and her dancing queen, not-so-mini-me daughter Rumer Willis. But those are all mother-daughter duos so obviously they’re gonna look alike. That’s why when we stumbled upon actress Ellen Page and her girlfriend Samantha Thomas we knew we were on to something different than those pairs: matching significant others!
Partner outfit coordination went down at the premiere of the film Freeheld at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival between the actress and her artist girlfriend, who also happened to be making their red carpet debut together at the event. In similar-but-different formal wear Samantha chose to rock a looser look with trousers, a ruffled shirt, a vest and fancy slippers while Ellen opted for leather (pleather?) skinny pants, a jacket with a matching skinny tie and some BA boots. Definitely a twinning moment.
As if the matching couple wasn’t enough for the event, they added a third lady to their identical posse turning them into a twinning trio. OITNB actress Ruby Rose snapped a few photos with Ellen and Samantha comparing them to waiters. “When you’re not sure if you’re a YSL Campaign or really stylish waiters.”
The fiancée to fashion designer Phoebe Dahl also shared a sentimental moment on Instagram from the event about her BFF Ellen. “When your best friend is the most talented, funny, beautiful, generous, humble human being it’s hard to not smile until it hurts. Ellen, I am so proud of you and will always be grateful for everything you are and will always be to me.”
