Get the Look of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s Cali-Cool Home
We loved to hate Emily Blunt’s The Devil Wears Prada character (“I don’t eat anything, and when I feel like I’m about to faint, I eat a cube of cheese”), we all had a crush on Jim from The Office and now we get to tour the cutest power couple’s home. You guys. Their Hollywood home was built for outdoor living — the couple added a roof deck and a pool — and the interior is a classic blend of Cali-cool with a modern edge. Check out the amazing retreat on Lonny and scroll down to see how to get the look for a fraction of the price.
Study
With floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s unclear how much work actually gets done in this luxe study space, but it’s nice to imagine the couple brainstorming their next great film project in those big leather chairs. A huge abstract painting on one wall adds color, and there are lots of house plants to boost productivity. Wonder whether John or Emily has the green thumb…
Set up a cozy sitting area with a vegan leather Griffin Chair ($379) from Urban Outfitters and add even more texture with these these DIY Fabric Pots from Pretty Quirky Pants. If painting isn’t for you, pick up this Cocolia Studio Abstract Print ($39+) from Urban Outfitters. No room is complete without a metallic, and this Gold Acrylic Table Lamp ($32) from Target adds just the right amount of luxe.
Kitchen
The kitchen is almost entirely white, with the exception of a big wood island. We’re not sure which takes our breath away the most: the huge windows or all the storage. #Swoon
White and wood accessories are a classic combo that will instantly make your kitchen feel fresh and modern. Get the Olive Wood Rustic Cutting Board ($59) from West Elm and a couple white Porcelain Pitchers ($14) from Target for flowers or juice. Make life more organized with a few Heritage Hill Glass Jars ($13) from Crate and Barrel and add a DIY moss terrarium from We Are Scout.
Living Room
The black and white living room looks like the perfect place to curl up and watch one of the couple’s greatest hits — or just put The Office on repeat. Even though the furniture is all very modern, piles of throw pillows and a few house plants make the space feel comfortable and family-friendly.
Give your space a makeover with a gray Honeycomb Rug ($177 per sq ft) from The Rug Company and a few Gray Velvet Throw Pillows ($10+) from Cost Plus World Market. It wouldn’t be Hollywood glam without gold accessories, so style your coffee table with these DIY gold dipped vases from Lezoe Musings and this Perch Table Lamp ($99) from West Elm.
Bedroom
The soothing gray color palette makes the bedroom feel like a spa, and not just because there is a massage table AND Pilates studio in the other room… sigh.
While we can’t all get that “woke up next to Jim” look, you can still copy the rest of the bedroom’s soothing decor. Set up a seating area with a couple gray Frankie Chairs ($380) from Urban Outfitters and follow this DIY Dipped Concrete Planter from A Beautiful Mess for your fiddle leaf fig plant. Toss a couple blue Catalina Pillows ($58) from Brit + Co onto the bed and set out the Geo Vase ($52) from Lulu & Georgia for flowers.
