Check Out Emma Watson’s First Costume from Beauty and the Beast
We are literally counting down the days until Emma Watson’s turn as Belle in Disney’s upcoming live-action flick, Beauty and the Beast (there are 189 to go, jusstttt in case you were curious). The film is out March 17, and while we’ve seen a few pics from the flick and even gotten a little taste of Emma’s table read, sans for a quick flash of her face in the teaser trailer, we’ve seen very little in the way of her actual costumes from the film.
Luckily, our friends over at Hello Giggles have uncovered some special footage from Disney’s 25th animated anniversary edition of the original Beauty and the Beast film (now available in iTunes) that has us gazing upon our very first glimpse of (gasp!) Emma’s “peasant Belle” costume.
While the rendering is billed as “early concept art,” suggesting that alterations are entirely possible, it gives us a pretttttty good idea of what the dress will likely look like.
Aside from the swap of a white apron for some more functional side towels and ballet flats for some more practical boots, the costume sketch is nearly identical to the cartoon version, and it’s enough to have us envisioning Emma strolling along the provincial town square, singing about her hopes and dreams with book in tow. Squee!!!
In the meantime, if anyone needs us, we’ll be watching the 25th anniversary edition on repeat: Bye, world.
