Twirling Is the New Black on the Emmys 2018 Red Carpet
Sometimes a girl’s just gotta twirl. At the 2018 Emmy Awards in LA, the spirit moved more than a few stylish stars who offered up something more than the standard hand-on-hip pose. Because when a lady wears a gorge gown with a whole bunch of Boomerang-worthy skirt, there’s just no stopping her.
You know the feeling: You put on a floaty frock and you’re instantly transported back to your younger days when the best part of getting dressed up in a frou-frou dress was, well, spinning. Given all the tulle and chiffon we saw on the gold carpet, it’s no surprise that a few attendees were caught in the act. As RuPaul once wisely said, “Work it girl. Give a twirl!” Keep reading to see all the celebs make the move their own.
She’s a rainbow! Tiffany Haddish couldn’t resist the urge to move in her custom Prabal Gurung multicolor gown. The piece was, according to Gurung, “inspired by the colors of the Eritrean flag, designed with love and soul to celebrate her heritage.” Yep, that’s definitely something to celebrate. Spin away, girl. (Photo via Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic/Getty)
Michele Dockery floated across the carpet in this Carolina Herrera number, paired with Harry Winston jewels and Sophia Webster heels. Totally dreamy. (Photo via Frazer Harrison/Getty)
E! News host Zuri Hall swished away in her peachy Fouad Sarkis Couture gown. She accented it with Forevermark jewels and Manolo Blahnik shoes (somewhere under all that dress). (Photo via Steve Granitz/WireImage/Getty)
Joey King sashayed into the Emmys in a glorious Zac Posen gown that was pretty much made for sashaying. The designer has pretty much cornered the market on dramatic entrance dresses, so she clearly went to the right place. (Photo via Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty)
