Erika Christensen Gave Birth to a Baby Girl — and Husband Cole Maness Delivered Her!
World, meet Polly! Erika Christensen and husband Cole Maness welcomed their second child, a baby girl, on Friday, August 10 — and the newborn’s birth story is one for the books.
Christensen announced the happy news via Instagram, sharing a picture of herself and Maness just after little Polly’s somewhat unexpected arrival. “It happened! It happened this morning,” the Parenthood star wrote. “And it will go down in family history because baby girl’s own, incredible Dad delivered her all by himself.”
Christensen and Maness planned to have a doctor there, but Polly just did not want to wait. “My fault entirely as I didn’t know she would come so quickly and didn’t call the doc until far too late,” the proud mother of two explained. “He came straight over and arrived about one minute after she joined us in the world. Haha! My Mom too. You should’ve seen their faces when they walked in to hear her little wail.”
Because everything happened so quickly, Christensen isn’t positive about an exact birth time, but she thinks Polly arrived at 9:21am and weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces. “Doc didn’t have time to grab the baby scale in his rush,” she wrote on Instagram. “Meet Ms. Polly. She’s chubby-cheeked and rosy and so beautiful.”
The actress, who is already the mom of daughter Shane, first revealed she was pregnant back in May, when she shared a photo of herself cradling her tiny baby bump. “All about the angle,” she joked at the time, clarifying, “And I didn’t just eat a burrito.”
Congratulations to the happy family!
