New Beauty Vending Machines Will Make Your Flight Delays Prettier
You really can’t call yourself a pro trip planner unless you can slip in a manicure appointment between packing and getting to the airport on time. And for most of us, our beauty experience before we arrive at our terminal isn’t quite as glamorously streamlined (“Umm… Siri, reroute to the nearest drugstore”). But pampering pit stops might be a thing of the past with the launch of Essie’s nail polish vending machines slated to hit select airports and malls across the country starting this month.
Called the Essie Color Boutique, the sleek touch-screen kiosks will vend 48 different shades from Essie’s lacquer lineup — 42 fan favorites and six seasonal shades, each priced at $8.50 (per usual, unlike that bottle of water + bag of Chex Mix :( ). According to a Glamour report, ECB will offer both individual colors as well as curated color collections to make passing the time during layovers and flight delays much prettier. Fingers crossed that the machines will dispense tutorials for some of Essie’s signature nail art looks along with the bottles (pattern play, please!!).
Book your next flight to SF or NYC to pay a visit to the kiosks, which will touch down first at Oakland International Airport and the JetBlue terminal at JFK in New York, with a spot at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport to follow. Or mallrats at the Oaks shopping center in Thousand Oaks and at the Shops at Mission Viejo — both in Cali — can snag a grab-and-go bottle in between checkout at Zara and the fitting room at Madewell. Shopping trip, anyone?
Is this NOT the greatest way to pass the time at the airport? What other beauty brands besides Essie — and Sephora + Benefit that also launched mobile vending machines — do you want to see with a kiosk at your city’s airport or mall? Tell us in the comments below.
