Chrissy Teigen Just Revealed We’ve Been Saying Her Name Wrong This Whole Time
Chrissy Teigen just dropped a major bombshell. The model and cookbook author revealed on Twitter on Sunday, September 16, that we’ve been saying her name wrong this whole time.

“I’m tired of living this lie. It’s Tie-gen. Not Tee-gen,” she said in a Twitter video late Sunday, stressing the “i” vowel sound in her name over the long “e” sound. She giggled as she asked for confirmation from her mother, who answered with an enthusiastic “YUP!” from across the room.
The news initially came to light in response to a tweet unrelated to Teigen. Someone tweeted, “You know how innocent you have to be to allow a world to pronounce yo last name wrong yo whole life and just go along with it?” To which one of Teigen’s fans wrote, “Well we pronounce @chrissyteigen‘s name wrong all the time.”
Shocking, we know. Teigen further revealed in a series of tweets on the breaking news that she “gave up a long time ago” when it came to correcting people and now even uses the incorrect pronunciation herself.
“I even correct people when they say it correctly,” the mom of two continued. “It’s all v effed up.”
And it’s not just her name, either: Teigen admitted that she’ll often go with the flow instead of correcting people on a number of issues — some more high-stakes than others. “I don’t correct people, ever,” she wrote on Twitter. “They can call me Janet and I won’t. Wrong order? I’ll eat it. Taxi going to the wrong airport? I’ll change my flight.”
